He started his own Swindon-based building contracting company, Nuhomes Construction Ltd in 1967 and twenty years later he set up a second business, Centurion (Western) Ltd, which undertakes small housing developments. The family tradition continues, with David’s wife, Anne, and two of his four sons, John (35) and Peter (29), working in the business.
